Bombardier C Series becomes the Airbus A220

Sun drenched Toulouse was again the backdrop for a new aircraft reveal, although this time it was an adoption rather than a birth.

Guillaume Faury was ebullient at the reveal "Everyone at Airbus has been looking forward to this historic moment. Today, we are thrilled to welcome the A220 to the Airbus family and are honoured to see it wearing its new Airbus colours for the first time.

The aircraft did a slow waving flypast on its arrival from East Midlands airport in the UK where it had hidden overnight. Once on the ground it taxied to the waiting media and staff flying an Airbus flag from the cockpit window.

After the obligatory speeches and a photograph with Airbus staff the worlds media were invited aboard to see the cabin and flight deck.

Time will tell as to how this new partnership will perform, the aircraft has not garnered to man y sales up to this point but with the might of Airbus behind it now and being sold as part of a family the future could well be a whole lot brighter.
