A surprisingly busy end to the year with 5 events to tell you about.

First off African Safari Airways was formed in 1967


The ill fated Tu144 made its first flight this day in 1968

Back to December 31st now and China Southern





acquired China Northern,

its subsidiaries Beiya Airlines, China Northern Swan & Xinjiang Airlines in 2004.


A name change next and and a change from one colourful livery to another when BWIA



became Caribbean Airlines in 2006.



2007 saw Aeroflot retiring it's last Tupolev Tu-134 after 40 years in service.
