This day in history...March 30

It has been a busy day over the years and we start back in 1970 with the first of a German couple. Lufthansa became the first European airline to take the Boeing 747, going on to operate many versions.

Still in Germany and a few years later in 1973 Hapag Lloyd made its first flight. The aircraft used being a Boeing 727-100

A thirty year jump now for a double in 2003. UK airline JMC was incorporated into Thomas Cook (who we will hear from later) as well as SAS off shoot Snowflake.

The one and only failure this day is that of Lloyd Aero Boliviano, shut down by the Government in 2007.

As mentioned we are back with TCX, this time absorbing MyTravel in 2008.

We round up in 2014 with El Al low cost offshoot UP!
