This day in history...May 9

A first flight and a busy day for todays trip down memory lane.

First off is the maiden flight of Fokkers' baby jet the F28 in 1967.

Read about many more maiden flights in my first book 'Flying Firsts'. Click on the image to find out more.

In 2005 there was a trio of events.

The first I have for you is that Kingfisher restarted operations.

Next we have a change of name with Britannia becoming Thomson. The first photo being a particularly lucky coincidence.

We finish on another ending, that of Belgium Exel.
